Orka Financial are collaborating with a Payroll Assistant to join their clients existing finance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while also supporting bank reconciliation efforts. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and a commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of payroll information.

Key Responsibilities:

- Payroll Processing: Process payroll for all employees accurately and on time, including data entry, calculating deductions, and processing special payments.
- Bank Reconciliations: Reconcile payroll-related bank transactions, ensuring that payroll disbursements align with bank statements and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Employee Records: Maintain accurate payroll records, including employee information, hours worked, and tax withholding forms.
- Compliance: Stay up-to-date with payroll laws and regulations, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax requirements.
- Payroll Reporting: Generate payroll reports as needed for management, accounting, and auditing purposes.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to employees by promptly addressing payroll-related inquiries and issues.
- Benefit Administration: Assist with the administration of employee benefits, including tracking leave balances and coordinating benefit deductions.
- Process Improvement: Identify and recommend process improvements to streamline payroll procedures and enhance efficiency.

**Qualifications**:

- Previous experience in payroll processing is required.
- Experience with bank reconciliations is a strong plus.
- Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of payroll laws and regulations.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
