**Overview**:
**We have a fantastic opportunity for a brand-new role of **Youth Worker (VCS).**

The Family Support Service is responsible for developing relationships with organisations in the voluntary and community sector to promote the early help offer to young people transitioning between targeted and universal provision and support diversionary programmes in communities.

This role will support the management and delivery for the 15 BC retained Youth Centres and other youth charities to ensure high quality provision & maximise opportunities.

Working within localities you will develop, deliver, and strengthen youth focussed voluntary community sector organisations and support networks that enable stakeholders and young people to engage with and make informed use of voluntary community services and facilities whilst instigating behavioural change.

**About the role**:
This role will involve engaging with stakeholders of VCS organisations, to support them around issues such as staffing, funding opportunities and business planning.

You will provide management and delivery support for the 15 BCC retained Youth Centres to ensure high quality provision & maximise opportunities within delivery locations, ensuring KPI’s are recorded, and data is collected.

Representation of Family Support Service at Community Meetings with a youth focus is a key part of the role and working within localities to develop and strengthen community support networks for young people.

Regular evening work will be required.

**About you**:
**To be successful in this role you will need the following skills, knowledge and experience**:

- Educated to Level 4 and /or relevant qualification in youth work and proven experience working with young people.
- Experience of engaging with Stakeholders in a youth work environment to improve outcomes for young people.
- Experience of working with vulnerable young people.
- Have effective communication and active listening skills; the ability to work creatively and flexibly and communicate effectively at all levels with a range of individuals, in a variety of different manners.
- Ability to co-ordinate, facilitate and chair meetings.
- Understanding of charities and the challenging nature of their environment.
