**Role**:
Apollo underwriters are at the forefront of Apollo in navigating the risk landscape. They collaborate internally with underwriting teams to assess, evaluate, price, and determine coverage for risks. Externally, they serve as the first point of contact engaging with brokers and clients - and actively communicate Apollo underwriting appetite and strategy through discussions and decisions. Apollo underwriters are instrumental to understand and meet the needs of our customers in an ever-changing world of risk.

The main role of an Underwriting Operations Assistant is to support underwriting teams in delivery of their business plan by taking ownership of all administrative and operational tasks, reporting, regulatory returns with an eye on process improvement. This role provides an opportunity to have an immediate impact providing operational excellence and resilience to underwriting teams while ensuring data is accurate, complete and on time.

**Responsibilities:
**_Underwriting Support_**
- Building relationships with underwriters, brokers, clients and internal stakeholders by attending/minuting meetings and supporting Underwriters at the Lloyd's Box
- Communicating with underwriters, brokers and other parties to address and resolve operational issues, obtain underwriting information and track premium payment
- Maintaining accurate and complete underwriting records in line with Apollo's procedures
- Managing documents to ensure complete underwriting files and share information with outsource partners
- Creating and issuing insurance documents e.g. Certificates of Insurance, No Claims Bonus letters and Notice of Cancellation
- Helping to improve processes by identifying areas for improvement, designing, testing and documenting solutions and participating in cross department projects

**_Pre-bind underwriting administration_**
- Managing the upcoming pipeline of new and renewal business and team mailboxes
- Checking Sanctions and broker Terms of Business Agreement ('TOBA')
- Undertaking Pre-Bind Quality Assurance including contract certainty checks
- Combining data from various sources to create and pre-populate pricing models
- Drafting underwriter frontsheets
- Generating policy reference numbers in policy administration system
- Facilitating exposure management modelling:

- providing schedules of values and policy information to outsource partners
- tracking tasks, responding to queries and ensuring data quality

**_Post-bind underwriting administration_**
- Sending Slips, endorsements and supporting information to outsource partner for timely and efficient entry into policy administration system
- Investigating and responding to policy queries from outsource partner, Lloyd's Insurance Company (Brussels) and other Apollo teams
- Recording pricing metrics, checking data quality and addressing exceptions
- Supporting the Operations team in investigating and allocating premium
- Working closely with Underwriters to review and update estimated premium records
- Undertaking credit control activities to verify overdue premium, liaise with brokers and DXC for payment and manage Aged Debt

**_Regulatory, Compliance & Reporting_**
- Ensuring data is accurate, complete and on time for internal and external reporting deadlines including regulatory returns
- Producing bordereaux and overseeing transformation of data through the insurance and reinsurance cycle
- Providing report and management information to underwriting team and Apollo committees
- Compiling data and file samples for reviewers/auditors and delivering recommendations

**Skill & Attributes**:

- Excellent numerical skills, strong attention to detail and be comfortable handling large data sets
- Skills in combining data from various sources to support Underwriters in their decision-making
