Network Engineer

My client supplies the latest technology solutions to organisations of all sizes across education, public and private sectors, helping thousands of organisations along their own digital transformation journeys.
They are looking for a Network Engineer to provide deployment of enterprise level LAN and wireless network solutions and services covering Meraki/Cisco/Aruba as part of the Professional Services team.
Key accountabilities
- To specialise primarily in Meraki/Cisco/Aruba oriented solutions, taking technical ownership of the delivery of end-to-end solutions.
- Attend appropriate technical and personal development training courses, meeting vendor certification targets that are assigned to you.
- Develop technical knowledge within applicable technology stream to widen area of expertise.
- Maintain high level of industry/business awareness through training and self-development.
Main responsibilities
- Lead design workshops and create complex low-level designs for enterprise level networks.
- Assist in developing Statements of Work and pricing of Professional Services work where required.
- Installation of solutions and services as designed either by Pre-Sales, yourself or another member of the Professional Services team
- Create detailed handover documentation for customers and/or Support teams
- Provide Project Managers will regular project implementation updates.
- Continuously help develop solutions by providing feedback from the field.
- Conduct training and technical workshops for customers and internal teams.
- Handle post-sales escalation and resolve issues, by coordinating and working with all internal and external stakeholders.
- Attend and lead customer technical solution design and implementation meetings.
Essential Requirements:
- In-depth understanding and experience in the design and implementation of Cisco/Meraki/Aruba Networking.
- Cisco/Meraki/Aruba routing and switching.
- Cisco and Cisco Meraki Security.
- Cisco Meraki wireless solution design, implementation, and configuration,
- Carry out live/virtual wireless surveys using Ekahau software.
- Network design and best practices.
- Implementing / designing solutions for the education sector (Schools, Colleges etc.)
- Able to create Low Level Design documentation.
- Using networking technologies including:
- In depth TCP/IP knowledge and experience
- Knowledge and experience with technologies including routers, switches, firewalls, IPS, ACLs, QoS, VLANs, VPN, BGP, DHCP, WAN and LAN environments, remote-access technologies
- Working knowledge of RADIUS and certificate-based authentication
- Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Network engineer within an implementation role.
Desired experience:
- Experience using Cisco Security supported products such as ISE, Umbrella, Duo
- Sound skills and understanding of protocols including OSPF, RIPv2, BGP, EIGRP, MPLS, VPLS, IPSEC, VPN, SSL VPN, VOIP, SIP Trunking, FCOE and iSCISI.
- Working knowledge of HPE Aruba based networking solutions.
- Cisco DNA, SDWAN, SDA
- Exposure to other security products (Check Point, Juniper, Aerohive etc.)
- Implementing / designing solutions for the education sector (Schools, Colleges etc.)
