**Skilled Machinist**

**Role**:
This is a new role to join a small team making precision, made-to-order parts.

You will be skilled in manual machining, particularly turning and working to tight tolerances. (Turning, horizontal milling, vertical milling)

CNC experience is beneficial, but not essential, training can be provided. (Alpha Harrison lathes, XYZ Milling Machine)

Reading engineering drawings is essential as is using standard measuring equipment.

Bench fitting, assembly, inspection, and hand dressing is required in this role.

Training will be provided in EDM wire machine.

Training can be provided in Ultrasonic Inspection and Dye Penetrant NDT.

We would like this role to develop into a workshop supervisor. Previous experience with whitemetal bearings is extremely desirable.

Training can be provided in other operations in our foundry to ensure we are as flexible as possible with a multi-skilled team.

**Rate**: Starting from £14/hour depending on experience

**Working Hours**: 37.5 Hours per week normal day shift, flexible arrangements can be made.

**About you**

This role will suit someone with a positive attitude to learning and development. It is essential that you are flexible, to be able to work with a small team and adapt to new requirements. Being a small company you have to play your part in doing all types of work and activities to help the business run smoothly, which include packing parts, goods receiving, and housekeeping.

You should be a good, confident communicator and willing to try, offer your ideas and contribute to the team.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time
Part-time hours: 37 per week

**Salary**: From £14.00 per hour
