We need a Senior Support Worker for our service at Consett. You will work directly with service users for some of your time and other times you will support the manager with day to day operational issues like organising shift cover and activities like participating in on call once you are familiar with the service ( paid for in addition) on an occasional basis.

If you would like to work with people who have a learning disability and/or a mental health issue and think you could make a difference, then please get in touch - we'd love to hear from you. We are recruiting right now and always want to hear from the right person. We offer excellent rates of pay, currently £12.50 per hour, and a paid comprehensive induction training and support package delivered by industry experts (and not through e-learning) lasting around 4-6 weeks, depending on prior experience and learning. This is followed by supernumerary shadow shifts with an experienced staff member before you work directly with service users. You will work in one location and not be expected to work anywhere else other than in exceptional circumstances.

Experience in the care industry is not always necessary but if you have the right attitudes and values we will support you through the process and teach you everything you need to know. (Well, almost everything) **We would have expected you to supervise staff in another setting. Life experience of caring for others would be helpful.**

There is a two stage interview process which is started by a formal interview then a second stage interview with service users that you may support. Only on success at stage two would you be offered a position. We feel this is an important part of you getting to know us and us getting to know you.

We also pay every member of staff, regardless of age, the same rate of pay. So whether you are any age from 18 to 85 we pay you the same. We do not believe in zero hours contracts and guarantee a minimum of 37.5 hours a week.

We will only expect you to work at one site in any working day, and you will usually be based in one location. **Being a car driver with access to a car is essential**.

We are currently (13/04/2023) recruiting one position of Senior Support Worker.

We are aiming to be a mindful employer and are recruiting people of all sexes for all sites.

Because of the nature of our services people must be aged 18 or over in order to apply.
