As a Head of Commercial Analytics you will be the key Product Owner on a portfolio of strategic commercial solutions In this you face off directly to senior stakeholders including members of markets boards delivering solutions critical to TUI that have significant technical and analytical complexity as well as requiring a high level of business process change. You will deliver and ensure ongoing optimisation and benefits realisation of solutions that operate across both multiple source markets and central markets’ teams.

**ABOUT THE ROLE**

In this role you will liase with multiple stakeholders at all levels of the business including senior and board level management to define and obtain the buy-in for significant change, to specify and agree analytics solutions. Based on your understanding of TUI’s business strategy and stakeholder feedback, you will drive the vision for your area of the portfolio which will result in a roadmap of change over 12 to 24 month period and then work with multiple teams to deliver in an agile fashion. To enable this you will demonstrate exceptional problem solving capabilities and a commitment to a data driven and scientific approach to decision making. Then you will work with both business and IT teams to ensure solutions are delivered to time, budget and that benefits are realized.

You will take a client centred approach to delivery, ensuring needs of end users are met whilst at the same time influencing their thinking to ensure buy-in to new ways of working that both maximises the benefit from analytics and ensures commonality of process across the different TUI markets.

You will work with agile delivery teams demonstrating a strong understanding of both analytical methodologies, technologies and TUI business to enable you to make decisions on different solution approaches and support the teams on solution delivery. In particular, you will lead the team in designing solutions such that functional design is robust to future change and we continuously think about the end to end impact of our solutions. You will work closely with IT teams throughout the agile lifecycle to prioritise effort to ensure benefit delivery is accelerated and maximized and project risks are minimized.

You will work closely with colleagues from across the analytics and business communities to ensure that synergies in delivery are obtained and that we realise benefits from joining up both data and thinking across the business. You will also contribute to and support the use of a common set of standards and ways of working across analytics in TUI. In addition, you will work with technology teams to understand potential benefit from new technologies and look how to work these into our solutions to maximise our benefit delivery.

A key principle for Commercial Analytics is that both us and our data solutions are trusted and you will ensure that controls are in place such that our data and solutions can be relied upon including driving process change in businesses where this is a requirement for data quality.

You will lead and manage a team of technical business analysts and/or data scientists ensuring that they develop their capabilities and are motivated as well as playing a key leadership role in the running of the function including the communicating of our successes so that we develop the reputation of leading the industry.

**ABOUT YOU**
- Ability to think strategically and commercially - see the bigger picture, analyse complex problems and quickly evaluate options to meet business expectations.
- Experience of prioritising and clarifying analytical modeling and ability to quickly ascertain the cost/benefit of different approaches
- Strong background in a number of analytics techniques including on either data science side e.g. optimisation, simulation, forecasting, experimental design, statistics or reporting side e.g. warehouse design, data modelling
- Strong technical skills including ability to use SQL, python in order to support testing and team development as well as understanding of best practice in technical development and role of different technologies
- Understand customer needs, both internal customers and external customers and balance this with commercial drivers.
- Knowledge of the TUI business model, with extensive knowledge of Commercial function activities
- Knowledge of IT development lifecycles, agile ways of working and demonstrable experience reviewing and contributing to technical design and user stories
- Ability to influence, challenge, engage, negotiate and inspire team members, peers and stakeholders at all levels both inside and outside the division.
