We are currently recruiting for the following permanent position in Somerset

**Required: Mechanical Estimator (Built Environment/Building Services)**

Location: Taunton

**Salary**: up to £40k-50k

The employer are ideally looking for an experienced, mechanically biased Estimator. Reporting to the Mechanical Director, the Estimator will be responsible for the management of tenders by researching and gathering all relevant information and win work for the Company by completing and submitting competitive tenders.

For those looking to change career direction then relevant guidance and training will be provided

**Description of Key Duties**:
To undertake Mechanical tenders by reviewing and completing the tender forms and ensure they are within the given specifications.

Perform evaluation of the tenders and provide the pricing in a timely manner.

Responsible for developing and maintaining professional working relationships with clients and sub-contractors.

Obtain estimates and prices from sub-contractors and suppliers respectively.

Prepare and issue of tenders in line with the tender documentations provided.

When required getting involved with site surveys.

When required getting involved with design after the training period, particularly design and build projects which we frequently encounter.

Follow up tenders and assist with securing projects.

Work with your immediate manager to continuously improve the process for estimating.

To have knowledge and understanding of the workplace health and safety regulations.

**The ideal (experienced) Estimator should have**:
Estimating Experience of mechanical building services projects (heating, plumbing services etc)

Excellent numeracy and data analysis skills

Effective communication skills

Good organisational and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and achieve deadlines

Ability to problem solve

Ability to work unsupervised

A regional Building Services contractor, working across Healthcare, Education, Military, Retail and Commercial construction projects, from design through to project delivery. The company has been established for over 50yrs.
