**What will you be doing?**

As a Senior Casualty & Specialty Underwriter reporting to the Casualty & Motor Underwriting Manager, you will play a crucial role in evolving Zurich Municipal's Casualty & Specialty portfolio of business. Your responsibilities will include improving profitability, identifying growth opportunities, and engaging in strategic renewal and tender negotiations with customers. Some key activities of the role include:

- Serving as a key contact within the department and for referrals within delegated authority.
- Ensuring consistent and enhanced Underwriting practices within Zurich Municipal.
- Contributing to the management of the P&L and implementing technical standards for the line of business (LOB).
- Establishing exposure identification, risk assessment, risk response, control activities, and LOB monitoring.
- Overseeing LOB and delivering key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Identifying LOB training needs and developing/delivering training material.
- Supporting the development of strategic LOB goals and Underwriting policy for ZM.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to execute LOB Underwriting strategy and contributing to the broader UK strategy through pan MFU engagement.
- Interpreting global Underwriting policies and recommending changes based on the local ZM market.
- Promoting Underwriting excellence internally and with customers.
- Developing Policy Wordings & Propositions.
- Handling Reinsurance Returns.
- Monitoring Technical Price accuracy and implementing solutions to enhance Technical Prices.
- Participating in Technical Underwriting Reviews, identifying trends, and contributing to the development of action plans and agreed-upon action items.

**What are we looking for?**
- Knowledge of UK Casualty &/or Specialty Underwriting practices.
- General awareness of UK market conditions.
- Strong communication and influencing skills.
- Experience in portfolio management.
- Strong stakeholder management experience.
- Minimum five years of Underwriting experience.
