**Role summary**:
The Disability Coordinator is responsible for increasing the support we offer to disabled participants and ensuring we offer an inclusive Marathon experience. This involves coordinating the disability outreach programme for the 2024 TCS London Marathon. This programme will be reaching out to charities and disabled persons organisations to recruit 200 participants with disabilities to take part in the 2024 TCS London Marathon. A key focus will be encouraging and supporting people who may have never considered they could complete a marathon.

The role will report to the Head of Disability and be supported by the Helpdesk.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Liaise with the charities/disabled peoples organisations to help them recruit disabled runners
- Work alongside the Helpdesk to get in touch with any disabled participants and provide any support or advice required
- Organise and run workshops with charities/ disabled people organisations on how to support their disabled participants
- Organise and run workshops for LME staff on how best to support the participants in our events
- Produce a guide for those with disabilities, answering the common FAQs and providing guidance for them to follow
- Attend the Running Show and provide advice at the information stand to disabled participants
- Work with the entries team on the entry system, website, and comms to ensure we appropriately market and announce our commitment to the inclusion of more disabled participants.

**Event responsibilities**
- Be available at the start to support disabled runners and ensure they are in the correct start waves and can enjoy the event
- Be available by phone to answer any queries and provide any assistance required.
- Move to the finish to support any disabled runners at the Finish
- Liaise with the charities to ensure their overall experience is positive and engaging

**Skills and Knowledge**
- Ability to work with participants with multiple disabilities
- Caring, kind, patient and compassionate
- Good knowledge of disability and inclusion
- Good knowledge of events and working in events
- Safeguarding of **adults at risk**
