We are looking for an experienced Technology Leader to help shape and drive the Technology department at CRUK us to deliver our 10-year strategy.

Over the last two years the whole organisation has undergone change, and the Tech team are now structured around products and operate in a capability and portfolio matrix structure. This has re-engaged the department and the next phase is to build on this success and focus on how we maximise the impact of what the department does through further refinement and selective partnering to increase capacity and areas of capability.

The role will have oversight of a significant and continuing technical change programme, rationalisation of the cloud and on-premises estate, and in particular two major change initiatives ‘Engage’ and ‘Sustain’. These align to two pillars of our new 10-year strategy, the former is around developing audience centricity and involves replacing our CRM, CMS and volunteer systems, the latter is around employee experience and focuses on our finance, HR, risk and tech processes. The Engage initiative is up and running with third parties engaged in some delivery with others still to be selected, the Sustain initiative is in organisational design phase.

As well as your broad technology experience, you’ll be able to bring to the role:
- Forward-thinking approach with a strategic view that looks to create sustainable and scalable strategies- A data centric approach to with the ability to develop an organisational wide data strategy- A passion for people and proactively nurtures talent, builds capability and ensures robust successionWhat will I gain?

Without you we wouldn’t be able to achieve our aim of seeing 3 in 4 people survive cancer by 2034. So, we want to reward you in as many ways as possible. Our benefits package includes 30 days annual leave, a competitive pension scheme, discounts on anything from travel to technology, gym membership, and much more. We want to ensure that you have the best work/life balance possible, so we actively encourage a flexible working culture for all our roles wherever possible. For most of our office-based roles you’ll only be required to work from a specific location for 1 or 2 days a week on average. You’ll also be able to access a wide range of learning and development opportunities. And ultimately, you’ll know that you’ll be changing lives through your work.

If you’re as ambitious as we are, join our collective force and enjoy an excellent career, as we save lives and add years.

There’s a place for everyone at Cancer Research UK. Our vision is to create a charity where everyone feels like they belong, benefits from and participates in, the work we do. We're committed to creating an inclusive culture where everyone can be themselves and reach their full potential.
