**Must be able to travel, using public or other forms of transport where they are viable, or by holding a valid UK driving licence with access to own or pool car.**

The purpose of the role is to deliver the quality assurance programme for Children’s Services by undertaking good quality practice learning reviews and other quality assurance activity to inform the delivery of good quality professional practice and services to children, young people, and their families.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Completion of good quality analytical Practice Learning Reviews (audits) including thematic, deep dive reviews, dip samples, and individual case record reviews.
- Produce analytical reports including qualitative and quantitative data, findings and make recommendations to improvement frontline practice, services contributing to improved outcomes for children and their families.
- Effectively engage children, young people and their families in the operational work in evaluating services by ensuring children, young people and their families voices are reflected in PLR and quality assurance activity to inform individual PLRs and overall analysis of activity.
- Support the development of learning resources and materials from PLRs and other quality assurance activities.
- My job improves the quality of life for the people of Bournemouth Christchurch and Poole by reviewing, analysing and making judgements on the impact of services and interventions to children, young people and their families - by Children’s Services - in order to inform future professional practice and service delivery ensuring Children, Young People and their families receive a good service that impacts positively on their lives.
- Contribute to the development, alignment and execution of departmental procedures likely to impact upon or be influenced by practices to sustain and develop high quality standards practice.
- Work collaboratively with practitioners, managers, and at times partners, to reflect on practice to inform PLR and Quality Assurance activity.
- Authoritative knowledge of the work practices, processes and procedures (including legal and regulatory requirements and the risks of noncompliance) relevant to the service, including broader commercial awareness.
- Contribute to the strategic direction of the service by helping influence and develop strategic business plans, policy and procedure using information and data from customer.

**Qualifications**:

- Diploma in Social Work or equivalent.
- Educated to degree level.
- Relevant Management qualification.
- SWE Registration or equivalent.

**Skills & Experience**:

- Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role, or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.
- Extensive Experience of working across a range of children’s services areas i.e. early help, children in need, child protection, fostering, adoption as a practitioner and manager.
- Extensive experience of undertaking a range of high-quality audits / practice learning reviews including thematic reviews and dip samples at pace.
- Experiences of engaging practitioners, managers, children, young people, and families in the PLR process.
- Experience of writing detailed qualitative and quantitative analytical reports with clear recommendations and actions to improve practice and services.
- Extensive experience and knowledge of the legislative and inspection frameworks children’s services works within including understanding what ‘good’ and ‘outstanding’ practice looks like.
- Experience of using electronic case record systems, i.e. Mosaic and Care Director.
