Senior Specialist Support Worker

We are looking to recruit senior support workers to our team to work across days, waking and sleeping nights and are looking to recruit to 24-36 hours per week. We support this person seven days a week with shifts allocated on a rota'd basis.

As part of this role, responsibilities will include:

- To lead and guide the team in delivering the best outcomes for people
- To advocate for the team and for the person in improving practice in service with the Aspire management team
- To facilitate the testing and implementation of new approaches and ideas
- To Mentor new starters

We are looking for the following attributes:

- To be committed to delivering Aspires organisational values of honesty, openness and joint working
- To be kind and passionate about the work we do
- To have a commitment to always learning

In order to build a relationship with our young lady we have found that working at least two days shifts a week is really valuable, so are looking for a little flexibility across the role to meet her needs in this way. Building a relationship with her takes patience and time and can be challenging so perseverance with building mutual trust is required.

She has a learning disability and Autism with a pervasive drive for autonomy, so her team need to be skilled communicators who help her manage her epilepsy and Ehlers Danlos Syndrome on both the busy days and the quieter ones.

A driving licence and a willingness to drive a motability vehicle are essential.

We will pay for a DBS check and are looking for a quick start, so what do you have to lose? We are also recruiting for support workers to our services further West in the county.
