**The opportunity**

**Please be advised that this opportunity is open to Cardiff School of Art & Design students only.**

A British Art & Design School with a 150-year history, Cardiff School of Art & Design (CSAD) is housed in a state-of-the-art building on the Llandaff Campus and is home to students united by ambition and a true passion for creative enquiry. They are artists, designers, makers and thinkers in the fields of architecture, design, fashion, fine art, and a range of craft disciplines. The school is also home to FabLab, the Perceptual Experience Laboratory, Spin-out companies Fovotech and HUG, and a number of major research and innovation initiatives that cohere around visual perception and user-centred design, linking disciplines from fine art to computer science.

The role of Dress and Fit model is based in the Cardiff School of Art and Design, primarily supporting the Fashion Design programme. The role involves working closely with students to model clothing.

The model will be dressed in various clothing and required to pose and move as instructed by School staff whilst students assess the fit of the garments and how they sit on the figure.

The model will be dressed in a variety of clothing samples for students to gain knowledge and experience of how clothing interacts with the body-space, tolerance, balance, pattern, shape, function and fit.

Work will be allocated on the basis of availability and match to the student’s work measurements.

You will be:

- Required to be dressed in designers’ sample garments.
- Required to pose or move while clothed.
- Responsible for assuming poses as directed by the lecturing staff.
- Required to maintain standing or sitting positions for extended periods of time
- May be photographed or filmed while posing and moving.

**What we are looking for**
- Able to maintain standing or sitting positions: this may involve bending, stooping or holding arms and legs in stationary positions for extended periods of time.
- Must be willing to pose with various clothing.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Flexible as you may be asked to work at short notice.
- Ability to follow simple instructions.
- Ability to demonstrate a commitment to Equality and Diversity, Health and Safety, Quality Standards.
- You will be an enthusiastic and friendly with excellent communication and interpersonal skills coupled with a commitment to providing an excellent student experience.
