We are looking for a punctual, enthusiastic person with a keen eye for detail who is passionate about the natural and built environment to join the estate team.
This role will involve working predominantly in the building maintenance division but will also involve the general upkeep of a large private estate.
You will be working both as part of a small team and individually to maintain the aesthetic and functional operations of the estate, this role is varied and there is plenty of scope to gain experience and skills within countryside management as well as the building maintenance department.
A willingness to adapt and learn new on the job skills is a must as you must be physically capable as the role will involve a lot of manual tasks.
**General Tasks(included but not limited to)**
- Working on building maintenance alongside estate staff and sub-contractors with jobs such as garden clearance and maintenance, fencing and driveways.
- General carpentry work such as stud walling, carcassing, soffits and fascia repairs and assist with Installation of new windows and doors.
- Assist with minor roofing work, repairs to tile and slate roofs and associated leadwork.
- Demolition and household removal works, such as old pipework, kitchens and bathrooms.
- Gutter repair, cleaning and installation.
- Painting work, minor touch up and repair works internally and externally.
- General brick and blockwork installations and pointing repairs.
- Concrete work, laying edging boards and pouring/mixing concrete.
- Maintenance of estate yard and workshop spaces ensuring all are kept clean and tidy, to include strimming, cutting ivy, cleaning gutters etc.
- Organisation of timber and material stores to ensure kept tidy and stocked up.
- Ensuring Estate security by monitoring boundaries for damage and unwanted access.
- Dealing with Estate emergencies, when necessary, out of hours working will be required which will be recorded and accrued on a TOIL system.
- Assist with other general duties across the estate teams, this may involve tractor driving, fencing, chainsaw work across the parkland and farmland as required.
- Keep tools and equipment clean and tidy and stored in compliance with health and safety regulations.

**Must have Requirements.**
- Good inter-personal skills as this role will involve dealing with members of the public, tenants and sub-contractors, so a tidy appearance is also essential as you will be representing the estate at all times.
- Driving license.
- Good timekeeping.
- A can-do attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
- Computer literate.
- Ability to work independently.
- Good level of physical fitness and requirement to spend long periods outside even in inclement weather.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
**Desirable skill set**
- Strimmer and chainsaw tickets.
- Tractor driving experience.
- 360 deg Excavator experience.
- Spraying tickets.
- General DIY skills such as basic carpentry but more importantly a try anything hands on approach is imperative.
- First aid qualifications.
- Manual handling training.
