Guardian of Safe Working

Are you a Doctor, Nurse, AHP or non-clinical professional with an interest in junior doctor welfare and working hours?

The Trust is looking to recruit a Guardian of Safe Working Hours for the Brighton and PRH sites. The position of Guardian of Safe Working Hours is a post that can be held by a doctor, nurse, AHP or non-clinical professional, who acts as a champion for junior doctors and has the necessary profile, diplomacy, and tenacity to resolve any difficulties associated with working hours or rotas. A key part of the role is to provide assurance to the Trust Board that junior doctor’s working hours are safe and comply with the 2016 contract arrangements. It is also essential that they are independent and hold no other senior managerial role within the Trust to help ensure impartiality.

The remuneration for the post is 2 PAs per week (for Consultants or SAS) or the equivalent time allocation for staff employed on Agenda for Change (approximately 8 hours).
