Assistant Programme Director

We are looking for a experienced assistant programme director to join us to support the development of our community collaborative in North East London. The role will involve support our programme director to deliver the community collaborative objectives and work programme as well as providing co-ordination and support this system wide transformation programmes to ensure oversight and coordination of delivery. This is an excising new post as we embark on building the NEL community collaborative.

Key elements of work will include the use of a project management approach following Trust / Collaborative PMO practices, ensuring provision of the support and direction for programme/ projects from conception to successful completion/delivery/implementation and hand over/close.

The post holder will lead work with key stakeholders to implement service improvements and service redesign utilising a flexible project management methodology, orientated toward supporting service redesign.

The post holder will ensure that portfolios and the programmes within them have adequate resource planning, risk and benefits realisation management systems in place, along with robust stakeholder engagement plans incorporating co-production principles.

The post holder will understand and contribute towards Trust/Collaborative achieving efficiency targets for their allocated portfolio, whilst removing waste, improving processes, outcomes, quality and inequalities for both staff and service users.

Probationary Period

Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

High Cost Area Supplement

This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £4,313 to a maximum of £5,436).

- Liaison with partners across the multiple systems we operate within ensuring coordination of system wide programmes internally for oversight and assurance alongside system assurance
- Ensuring that the transformation programme is led and progressed effectively.
- Dealing with reporting and any relevant returns required by NHS E, regulators, partners and other reporting systems.
- Leading specific programs of work aligned to the needs of the Delivering Value programme and ensuring appropriate engagement from all partners.
- Maintaining with the SRO the monitoring dashboards to demonstrate progress and impact of the Delivering Value Programme internally and to support external reporting to system SROs as required. Ensuring these are updated and refreshed.
- Ensure best practice is maintained across the T-PMO and supporting system scheme delivery providing training and support where required.
- Take a lead in the coordination of training, development and transformation programme implementation across the Trust.
- Oversight and reporting on the progress of any Workstreams / Task & Finish Groups created by the Delivering Value Group.
- To manage the delivery of the Transformation and Improvement and Delivering Value Groups reporting requirements and to provide through the T-PMO administration for the chair.
- Participation in the relevant transformation groups or system transformation boards as required.
- Identification, documentation, approval, mobilisation and monitoring of internal and system efficiencies to support the T-PMO delivery.
