Your main responsibilities will be to assess housing need and demand and develop affordable housing policy to guide both the Councils direct housing delivery programme and residential planning permissions. You will be required to research modern methods of construction, low-cost home ownership, custom and self-build, community led housing and urban regeneration to develop appropriate housing delivery mechanisms, to expand the housing offer in the borough in a difficult financial climate, whilst helping to reduce our carbon footprint.

With excellent customer service skills, you will also be required to liaise extensively with partners from Housing Associations and developers to Government Departments, estate agents and households seeking affordable housing. Educated to at least degree level, you will preferably have some experience of working in the field of housing, planning or regeneration. In return, we will provide training and support, and our innovative ways of working offers high levels of trust and autonomy to make decisions and manage your own workload.

This is a hybrid working role. The Council provides a pleasant working environment in brand new offices in Ellesmere Port, and is committed to flexible and mobile working, ensuring employees are equipped to work from home and promoting a good work/life balance. We also operate a flexi-time system with the opportunity to accrue additional leave.

The contractual work location for this role is listed above however you may be required to work from a range of work locations or sites within the Borough and may also be required to work from home, depending on the needs of the service.
