We are excited to announce a brand-new opportunity for a Mortgage Underwriter to join our evolving Mortgage Underwriting team
Our Underwriting team aim to achieve the highest possible levels of customer satisfaction whilst supporting the Society’s goal to help our customers own their own home. This is a key role supporting our mortgage transformation journey as we build out the mortgage ecosystem to support the delivery of our new strategy.
You will underwrite and sanction mortgage loans whilst providing a consistently effective, compliant and highly professional lending service to all Brokers and customers, both before and after completion.

**Here’s a taste of what you’ll be doing as a Mortgage Underwriter-**
- Deliver exceptional customer service to internal and external customers, Brokers and 3rd parties
- Maintain the quality of the overall mortgage book by exercising a mandate in a way that demonstrates strong credit assessment skills
- Engage in cross-functional collaboration to identify areas for improvement and actively participate in initiatives that elevate our collective performance
- Share your ideas, insights, and suggestions openly. We believe in the power of diverse perspectives to drive positive change
**What we’re looking for -**
- You will have underwriting experience, be highly organised and able to prioritise alongside being self-motivated
- Enthusiasm and drive to deliver great service ethos internally and externally to support our mortgage strategy
- You will be empathetic and flexible in underwriting decisions where possible, always aiming to deliver the best outcome for the customer and the business
- Relationship building skills are fundamental, building strong internal and external relationships is central to being successful in this role
