Working in a busy communications team, this is the perfect job for someone interested in improving the employee experience and promoting QinetiQ as an employer of choice.

Supporting the Senior Communications Manager People, this role covers a wide range of responsibilities and would suit someone who likes variety and working with a lot of different people.

A significant focus for this role is event delivery, both virtually and in-person. This includes, but is not limited to, CEO roadshows, Leadership forums, and large scale employee recognition events.

This role also enables the delivery of employer based communications, internally and externally, including content creation (video, blogs and other collateral).

With a focus on technology and innovative products and services, the company operates in interesting market sectors both in the UK and internationally. The role is located in Farnborough on a campus site with a café and subsidised canteen. There is also the opportunity to travel to other sites and countries.

Key accountabilities

Support the Senior Communications Manager People to develop communications strategy and plans, with a focus to inspire and engage employees and promoting QinetiQ as an employer of choice

Play a significant role in delivering internal events, both virtually and in-person

Create engaging and creative content for a variety of channels (blogs, social media, website, intranet) and diverse audiences

Drive group campaigns around public notable dates, such as Pride, International Women’s Day, International Men’s Day, World Health Day etc.

Source and develop employee related stories, aligned to our company strategy, purpose, values and behaviours

Analyse the impact and effectiveness of all communications activities to inform future plans and engagement

Ensure all content, messaging and collateral aligns to QinetiQ narrative and represents the brand in the most effective way

Keep up-to-date with the latest trends and best practice in communications, sharing this with the wider team to continuously improve engagement

Administer the Communications People budget

Key competencies

Passionate about communications, with a keen interest in employee engagement

Ability to help build and deliver communications plans, and analyse feedback

Ability to multi-task and work to tight deadlines

Flexible, with the ability to work at pace and under pressure

High levels of accuracy and attention to detail

Technically competent at managing virtual communication channels

Excellent communicator and creative thinker, with an ability to use both data and intuition to inform decisions

Good interpersonal skills and stakeholder management

Excellent written and verbal skills

Experience and qualifications

Degree level educated or equivalent working experience

Experience in employee communications

Experience of delivering events, both virtually and in-person

Experience working in a complex stakeholder environment, with good relationship management skills

Experience of managing external agencies, contractors, designers and content producers
