This is an opportunity for someone experienced in the development/ construction industry or local government planning function to be an important part of our Development Management Team, within the Planning & Development Service of Perth & Kinross Council.

As one of four Enforcement Officers and an important part of a committed Development Management Team, you will take a pro-active and responsive approaches to identifying, monitoring and resolving breaches of planning control in a manner which demonstrates both resolve and customer care, all aligning with the relevant legislation and approaches set out in our Planning Enforcement Charter. This will see you work in partnership and collaboration with a range of colleagues and other stakeholders. Responsibilities are likely to include undertaking development monitoring, whilst working closely with Planning Officers, Team Leaders and other stakeholders.

**Responsibilities**:
Your main responsibilities will include:

- Proactively promote and seek compliance with planning legislation and monitor compliance with the terms of planning and related permissions;
- Investigate and monitor reported and identified breaches of planning control;
- Confirm if planning or other related permissions are required for unauthorised development or breaches of planning control;
- Monitor major development sites to ensure compliance with approved plans;
- Identify and pursue means of resolving breaches of planning control;
- Undertake informal and formal enforcement action, including prepration and issuing of enforcement and related notices;
- Lead and support the Council's case in enforcement and related planning appeals (including written submisisons or appearing as a winess at hearings or public enquiries);
- Assist with general enquiries about enforcement and development management matters;
- Liaise with planning and other Council colleagues on areas of mutual interest;
- Develop, liaise and maintain strong connections with partner organisations and other stakeholders in the planning process;
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of investigations, monitoring and other enforcement activities;
- Support the development of information systems and to assist in development monitoring and other enforcement activity; and
- Assist in the formal reporting of development monitoring and other enforcement activities, as required by the statutory provisions or business needs.
- Contributing to the efficent and effective delivery of the wider Development Management and Planning related activities;
- Attending relevant Council Committees;

and
- Other such duties as may be required by Line Management.

Development Management staff are currently working a hybrid pattern, with the expectation of working in the office, at Pullar House in Perth, at least twice a week.
