Bath and North East Somerset Council is looking to recruit a new Head of SEND to build on the council's excellent work and reputation in supporting children with SEND pupils in schools and settings across Bath & North East Somerset.

As a Head of Service, you will lead our SEND team and be responsible for the timely and efficient delivery of our Education Health Care Plans. This active role requires a talented and experienced individual who can work across numerous professional boundaries in Education, Health and Social Care. You will have experience of managing teams, complex budgets and overseeing good performance management arrangements.

This is an exciting time to join the service area as we begin our efforts to respond to the DFE SEND Implementation plan and deploy our capital and resource SEND strategy. This position, alongside parents and carers, will be pivotal in shaping SEND service delivery and improving the educational outcome of our children and young people with SEND.

In turn, you will join an experienced Education and Safeguarding Directorate that is supportive and enabling and a council that is caring and ambitious for the children and young people in Bath & North East Somerset.

Your main place of work will be the award-winning, modern Civic Centre in Keynsham, halfway between Bath and Bristol, easily accessible via car or public transport, with a train station 5 minutes’ walk away.
