**Location: Pulborough - Due to location you will need your own transport.**

**Hours: Mon-Thu 8.15am - 5pm and Fri 8.15 - 1pm**

The role will involve negotiating and co-ordinating the timely and cost-effective supply of mechanical components and support services to ensure the companies cost and performance targets are achieved.

You will already have a proven background within buying and ideally within manufacturing or electronics and enjoy working in a busy environment.

**Responsibilities**:

- Develop long term supply relationships with key vendors
- Working closely with engineering on requirements for new mechanical components.
- Ensure that deliveries are consolidated maximising the use of each delivery vehicle.
- Negotiate cost and lead time reductions.
- Completion of daily MRP output with consideration to maximising delivery schedule.
- Assist materials manager in ensuring departmental objectives are achieved.
- NCR database and supply chain score card reporting with analysis of data production.
- Close liaison with the Planning, Sales, and Manufacturing departments.
- Contribute to stock minimisation tasks as part of stock reduction team.
- Keep system updated with accurate pricing and lead time data.
- Proven background within a buying role within manufacturing or electronics.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Diploma in purchasing and supply is desirable but not essential.
- Good IT skills and knowledge of manufacturing systems (MRP, ERP, MPS)
- Strong work ethic with a positive attitude.
- Supply chain agreement maintenance
