Attega are hiring for our well established manufacturing client who are looking for either a Trainee Buyer or an experienced Buyer. The successful Buyer is responsible for the timely order placement, supply and expedition of raw materials, assemblies, and supportservices to maintain our clients facility.
This position will manage select suppliers to ensure on time delivery while managing inventory levels to prevent shortages and maximize turns. Liaising with Engineering, Planning, Sales, and Manufacturing disciplines (team approach), highly focussed on environmentaland ethical trading considerations. The Buyer will report directly to the Supply Chain Manager.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Analyses exception messages from ERP system, and places Purchase orders ensuring cost effective timely delivery.
- Preparation of document packs (electronic) in support of custom part order needs, (i.e., drawings, BOM's, Gerber files) ready to submit to supply chain partners.
- Preparation and distribution of weekly expedite reports to selected supply chain partners, ensuring that all respond, and data is entered into company ERP system.
- Manage selected suppliers to control inventories and ensure timely flow of material.
- Develop working knowledge of commodities and associated supplier base.
- Develop a thorough working knowledge of required ERP system.
- Bring innovation and new ideas to the team and to management, with the ability to implement necessary process improvements.
- Able and willing to work to meet project deadlines, travel when needed.
- Responsibility for adhering to the Company's ISO 9001 Quality, ISO14001 Environmental and Health and Safety management systems and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE**
- A good standard of education and IT skills.
- Experience of purchasing electronic components or electro-mechanical parts desired but not essential.
- Upholding organisational values, working with integrity and ethically in all situations, and always treating others with respect.
- Building and maintaining effective working relationships that incorporate cooperation, trust and respect.
- Detail-orientated.
- Maintains composure and remains effective when dealing with challenges, unexpected disruptions.

- Maintain an appropriate focus on short and long term goals, outcomes, and accomplishments.
