The salary for this permanent Senior Residential Care Officer role is £31,977 per annum (Assignment rate)

**Main Duties**:

- Work under the supervision and advice of the Residential Manager and Deputy Manager with delegated responsibility for more skilled practice and contributing to staff development of other members of the team.
- Work sensitively as a senior team member in providing a warm, caring, enabling environment designed to fulfil the emotional, social and physical needs of those in residential care
- Assist children through periods of illness, stressful or behavioural difficulties seeking medical or other assistance as appropriate
- Maintain the least restrictive enabling atmosphere in which residents can discover and develop their social skills and ambitions.
- Participate in the admission of children and the monitoring of their progress

**Requirements of the Senior Residential Care Officer**:

- Degree or equivalent in social work plus current Social Work England registration
- Significant senior level frontline experience within children’s services
- Work flexibly and beyond normal hours if required at a time of crisis
- Application of child/adolescent behavioural development.
- Understanding of confidentiality/GDPR
- Willingness and ability to obtain and/or enhance qualifications
