Preston, United Kingdom Crown Prosecution Service Full time

Are you an experienced legal advocate looking for the next step in your career? The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) is recruiting senior crown advocates to support the delivery of justice across England and Wales.

**About the Crown Prosecution Service**

The CPS is responsible for delivering justice through the independent and effective prosecution of crime. As the principal prosecuting authority across England and Wales, the nature and diversity of cases we advise on and prosecute means our work is often emotionally challenging and complex. **About the role**

As a senior crown advocate, you’re at the forefront of our work, conducting jury trials in serious and often high-profile cases. You review and present evidence in prosecutions ranging from organised crime to murder, using your advocacy skills to secure the right outcome in every case. Your legal expertise is central to our ability to deliver justice, providing sound judgement on whether to proceed with prosecutions, which evidence to present and how future legislation is shaped.

**About you**

We’re looking for experienced Crown Court advocates with higher rights of audience for criminal proceedings. Your ability to persuasively present or challenge expert evidence and points of law is essential. Your experience of witness and media handling in complex and sensitive cases helps to maintain public confidence in our work. You must also have up-to-date knowledge of all criminal offences, allowing you to advise and provide clear decisions in a range of investigations.

**About our benefits**

At the CPS we pride ourselves on providing benefits that ensure our employees’ requirements are central. We want to ensure you can thrive at work and home, offering support to achieve a balance. Our benefits include:
