**About this Role**:
To work with the Assistant Principal (Teaching and Learning) to ensure the smooth running of the mentoring, training and timetabling for interns from local universities and ECT colleagues. The role includes acting as the lead induction tutor and mentor for ECTs and PGCE students.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES, TASKS & DUTIES

**ECT Lead tutor and mentor**
- Register ECTs and mentors on DfE online service
- Co-ordinate and quality assure the work of other induction tutors as needed
- Monitor engagement of the ECT and mentor with the ECG program and complete half termly report for UCL
- Participate in appropriate body, OTSA, and induction for tutor training
- Provide guidance for ETS professional development
- Observe ECT teaching
- Complete professional progress reviews (Autumn and Spring terms)
- Complete formal assessments (Summer term)

**PGCE Professional Tutor**
- Attend professional tutor meetings at the university when required and implement necessary activities and changes to provision for interns as required
- Hold PDP sessions once per week for interns to develop pedagogical understanding and discussion of aspects relevant to intern’s University PDP topics and assignments
- Work with the Assistant Principal (Teaching and Learning) to allocate tutor groups for interns
- Ensure interns attend relevant elective sessions
Flag to the university any concerns regarding intern’s progress at an early stage
Support the organisation and delivery of events with university interns, ie EAL, science and languages mornings
- Observe interns and provide feedback where required- These duties and responsibilities should be regarded as neither exhaustive nor exclusive as the post holder may be required to undertake other reasonably determined duties and responsibilities commensurate with the grading of the post. _
