**Workshop Service and Repair Engineer**

**Salary: Competitive**

An exciting opportunity for a Workshop Service and Repair Engineer to join a leading, established medical device / instrumentation design and manufacturing company.

The Workshop Service and Repair Engineer will repair and to pre-commission to all types of equipment manufactured and factored by the Company to conform to all current standards.

**Main duties**:

- Provide telephone and face-to-face support to external engineers, customers and users on technical service and IT issues
- Alert and provide the latest software versions and protocols to internal and external engineers
- Provide software and hardware support, including remote access and databases. (PC based IT skills)
- Pre-commissioning of new and demo stock
- Repairs and fault finding of Mechanical and Electronic equipment and software products
- Technical support to the Customer and Internally to sales/field engineers
- Parts ordering and inventory management
- Calibration of repaired equipment
- Dealing with Customer enquiries
- Liaising with manufacturer for support
- Following quality procedures to ISO 13485

**Key Tasks**:

- To achieve agreed performance objectives and targets as set by management
- Provide back-up cover for other Field Service Engineers as and when required
- Provide technical support for customers, sales and service staff
- Assist Customer Service Co-ordinators with technical queries
- Complete all Service Centre documentation promptly and accurately
- Keep Service Centre clean and tidy at all times
- Carry out inspection of colleague's repairs
- Assist with the upkeep of demonstration and exhibition equipment, carrying out maintenance and repairs when necessary
- Maintain a professional image for the company at all times
- Attend and actively participate in all departmental meetings and participate in both in-house and external training courses to improve product and technical knowledge
- Carry out training as and when required for colleagues and customers
- Assist with exhibitions when required
- Provide on-site technical support when required
- Carry out additional duties as and when required to ensure the smooth operation of the Service Centre at all time

**Qualifications / Skills**:

- HNC / ONC, BTEC, City & Guilds, NVQ in Electronics or equivalent
- IT skills including excellent networking knowledge
- Full UK Driving Licence required

**Salary Guide**: circa £35,000 pa

**Location**: Harlow, Essex with free on-site car parking
