**Job Summary**

**The Role**

Key to this role is the opportunity to develop and hand over a robust and transparent safeguarding framework that ensures a legacy of excellent safeguarding practice.

As the safeguarding lead, you will be required to engage with frontline staff, parents/carers living in the borough who are involved in problematic drug and/or alcohol misuse to minimise the impact on their children.

You will:

- be a key part of the management team, working with the service manager you will proactively engage your peers to support the frontline staff to develop excellent safeguarding practice throughout the service.
- where necessary, complete parental needs assessments, conduct home visits in conjunction with frontline staff to develop skills and knowledge in those staff.
- develop systems and pathways that ensure safeguarding of service users, children and those in our community are safeguarded from harm and abuse.
- work within the central hub and across multi-agency settings and will engage parents/carers known to the service, those who have disengaged, and those with an identified substance misuse need who are not yet known to the service.

**The Service**

Launched in 2020, Via Greenwich is a fully integrated substance misuse service, providing clinical and psychosocial interventions, operating from a main treatment hub in Woolwich. The team actively promotes recovery and works with individuals that are directly and indirectly affected by substance misuse, working with the local community to improve the health, wellbeing and functioning of Greenwich residents, irrespective of circumstance.
