Monday: 10.00h - 18.00h to Friday: 10.00h - 17.30h

(30-minute lunchbreak)

A great opportunity for a Merchandiser to provide merchandising support to the Trading team to facilitate optimum sales and stock levels of its own publications and associated product ranges.

To identify opportunities to maximise profits for the business whilst improving productivity.

**Responsibilities of the Merchandiser**

Utilise retail and website systems analytics to successfully manage stock through the business, driving promotional activity and improving margins.
- Agree quantities of merchandise for reprint/re-order.
- Liaise with Head of Trading to identify seasonal promotional activity in-store and online.
- To review rota and place regular stock orders of non-syllabus continuity products, building relationships with suppliers.
- Approve purchase orders
- Support the team to manage suppliers and liaise with operations team to ensure timely delivery of stock.
- Support retail operations to ensure merchandise is adequately represented in accordance with the peaks of the business, both in-store and on-line.
- Create weekly sales report for team meetings, including KPIs and present documents to the

team
- Identify opportunities, make recommendations and create promotional campaigns online
- Analyse sales data to identify product opportunities
- Work in partnership with the Head of Trading in order to improve margins
- Support Head of Trading to fully capitalise on digital product opportunities
- Fully understand Shopify and support the team in ensuring online products represent in-store offer
- Fully understand retail system to support the team in day to day tasks
- Support the team to identify and monitor model stock levels to support the rate of sales
- Analyse sales to identify markdown strategy based on sell-through percentage, and seasonality
- Attend trade shows with the Retail Manager to identify trends
- Attend and contribute to annual comparative shopping projects suggesting future opportunities via SWOT analysis.
- Contribute to weekly team meetings.
- Actively engage in social media in order to provide support to the retail team

**Education and Training**
- GCSE level education including English and Maths (or equivalent).
- Considerable relevant work experience in a retail environment.
- Experience of preparing and analysing sales reports and suggesting follow-up actions.
- Experience of producing SWOT analysis and quarterly reports.
- Experience of purchase order creation.
- Experience of managing obsolete stock and promotional activity.
- experience of working within an e-retailing environment.
- Experience of working with Shopify Internet CMS.
- Experience of coordinating stock-taking and using associated software.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
