**About the role.**

The Council is seeking a Democratic Services Officer whose knowledge, skills and experience will help its Governance team provide high quality and effective advice and support to the Council and its partners. The role sits within the Council’s Legal & Democratic Services which provide advice and support across all the Council’s services.

Reporting to the Democratic Services Team Leader, you will provide professional services to support the Council’s democratic and governance processes, working closely with key decision-makers and partners.

You should be educated to degree level or equivalent. Applicants should have a genuine enthusiasm for working in the public sector and be invested in their own personal development.

You must be proficient in using Microsoft Office, have strong organisational skills and be able to prioritise your work to ensure timescales are met. You will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and have experience of working with elected Members and senior officers in a democratic services, scrutiny, policy development or performance management role.
