We have a fantastic opportunity for a Housing Options Officer / Front Door Navigator at Bolton Council. This is a Full-time role for the next 3 months, with the possibility of extension.

**What is the role?**

Bolton Council’s Housing Services Team are looking for an experienced Housing Options Officer / Front Door Navigator to support to the Housing Options and Advice Service.Also, to provide for all aspects of advice and information on homelessness, housingadvice and housing access as a front door navigator.

**What are your responsibilities?**
- You will be required to provide for all aspects of advice and information on homelessness and housing advice and housing access.
- As a front Door Navigator, you will be required to have extensive working knowledge of relevant legislation including homelessness and lettings especially.
- The role will require the navigator to aid vulnerable customers to access and engage in services; offering advice and support on all options and work closely with other agencies externally & internally to provide options, prevent and relieve homelessnessand to provide for the needs of households.
- There will be a requirement for the Front Door Navigator to assist client to utilise online and telephony services where possible.
- Must have exemplary communication skills and be confident in delivering difficult messages as well as managing expectations of clients that attend Bolton Town Hall some of which have complex, chaotic and often challenging behaviours.
- You will be well skilled in managing challenging behaviour in support of other One Stop Shop colleagues and security to ensure appropriate management of customer egress from the building.

**What skills do you Need?**
- Must have previous Housing Options Officer / Accommodation Officer experience within a local authority
- Strong IT Skills, as you will need to record information accurately on internal systems.
- Full knowledge on all housing legislations
- You will need excellent people skills, as you will be speaking to service users, landlords, carers and other members of staff.
- You will need to hold a Full UK Driving Licence and have access to a vehicle.
- Normal working hours are 9.00 am to 17.00pm, with occasional requirement to manage situations after 17.00pm as appropriate and required.
