Intermediate Level Apprenticeship
- Level 2 (GCSE)
- What will the apprentice be doing?
- Alongside general labouring, formworkers are responsible for using casts to form concrete slabs, support beams and walls, to support the building process during construction.- Assisting carpenters initially with a view to becoming a formwork carpenter
- Striking / dismantling formwork and falsework
- Building structures on site using wood or putting together pre-made metal frames
- Dismantling casts without damaging them, so that they can be used again
- Must be comfortable working at height, will be trained to do so

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- The qualification you would gain is the Level 2 Formworker (Standard) where we will be looking to partner with a training providing to provide the training, provider not yet confirmed.
- This training will include a paid study day, once enrolled, up to 7 hours/1 day per week. You are expected to travel when necessary for training and/or assessments. You will be responsible to managing/arranging with your line manager.
- What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
- On completion of this apprenticeship, you can work as a qualified Junior Formworker where, with more experience, you can look to progress into a senior formwork position or work your way up to a foreman/supervisor position. With experience and drive, you could end up as a manager or even run your own company.
- You will be eligible for the Skilled Worker (Blue) CSCS Card after the level 2 qualification.____________________
