**About Glendale**:
Based in south Preston, Glendale Interiors is a busy company that carries out refurbishment work and also supplies and installs furniture in schools and offices around NW England.

We have been established since 1976 and are very well known in the industry for our exceptional products and service.

**About the role**:
We're seeking a meticulous and skilled Bookkeeper with an AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) qualification to manage our financial records with precision and expertise.

Reporting to the directors, you will be responsible for managing our accounts department on a day-to-day basis. There will also be some general office administration as part of the daily duties.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using Sage and other software.
- Record day-to-day financial transactions and ensure all entries are categorised correctly.
- Reconcile bank statements, ledgers, and accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies.
- Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Collaborate with the directors to support month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Monitor and analyse financial data to identify potential areas for improvement or cost-saving opportunities.
- Stay updated with accounting principles, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance.
- Place orders with suppliers using Sage, and liaise with them to ensure goods are received on time.
- Manage suppliers to ensure we have their current pricing, liaise with them as necessary to support the estimating department.
- General filing of order processing paperwork and records.
- Order processing work and other administrative duties such as liaising with suppliers.

**About you**:
In order for you to be successful in this role you will need to be; enthusiastic, positive, self-motivated and driven, with excellent relationship building skills. You must be able to communicate clearly with the rest of the team and have a willing, can-do attitude. A thirst for accurate, meaningful data is essential

You will need to have excellent Microsoft Excel skills and be experienced in using Sage software.

An understanding of the construction industry is also beneficial but not essential.

**Requirements**:

- AAT qualification or equivalent certification in accounting.
- At least 3 years proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in Sage accounting software and MS Excel.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex financial information clearly.
