**Main duties and responsibilities**: Accountability for the maintenance of an accurate and contemporaneous bed states, monitoring actual/potential occupancy at all times, and to contribute to the required daily collection and analysis of data relating to bed management within the Medicine Division. Monitoring of trigger points, and when necessary use judgement to implement the Trusts Bed Escalation strategy, taking corrective action in order to minimise bed delays through effective planning. Coordinating the Trust response to patients who are likely to exceed the targets set out in the NHS plan. Active management and engagement of all teams to ensure timely flow through ED and timely pull into acute beds and into specialty beds across the Medicine Division.
To provide senior nursing support and advice to all clinical areas within the Medical wards and act as the point of call for these queries To ensure the principles of patient flow allow safe and timely transfer of patients from the Emergency Department to the Wards in the Medicine Division To support with line manager for bed managers and Transfer team For more details please consult the Job description and Person specification documents attached to the advert.
