**Are you looking for a role working with children, where you can have a positive impact on their life? Are you confident, and open to new challenges? This role could be for you**

**About the school**:
Based in Chesterfield, this residential special school caters to children aged 11-16 years with severe social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH). Most students attending the school have behavioural difficulties and associated disorders which have caused problems in mainstream schools and led to exclusions. This will include building rapport with students and creating positive relationships which influence them to regulate their behaviour. You will be part of a small team of 5 in charge of the safety and wellbeing 15-25 students (depending on time of year). Initially you will work on a temporary basis however the school will look to take you on a permanent contract after a period of transition.

**What we need from you**:
If you have previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant/support worker or are passionate about improving the outcomes for young people, this is the role for you. As an individual you will be outgoing and confident in your abilities to deal with behavioural difficulties and re-engaging students in education.

It is desired (although not essential) that applicants have a qualification in Team Teach and experience in dealing with young people who have SEMH needs. It is also required that applicants are able to drive as you may be required to conduct safe and well visits to pupils homes on occasion.

**What Protocol can offer**:

- A dedicated consultant who understands the importance of finding the right role for you, allowing you to get the best out of your employment.
- Access to over 50 CPD courses of Diploma and Certificate level, used to help further your understanding and help you progress further within your career.
