This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of expansion of the Regional Fraud Team (RFT) and to be involved in the national fight against serious and organised fraud. The RFT conducts investigations against Organised Crime Groups and individuals that are identified as being involved in high-level fraud activity impacting on the South East region. Work is tasked from other capabilities within SEROCU, self-generated or from Regional Tasking.

As the DS on the Regional Fraud Team you will work closely with the other RFT DS to identify suitable investigations for the team, to effectively supervise these investigations and lead the team to navigate the ever expanding and changing world of fraud investigation.

**Responsibilities**
- To manage effective fraud investigations (including OCG disruption) in line with the relevant investigation policies, legal requirements, and within the required timescales.
- Manage the gathering of evidence and intelligence to tackle organised crime at regional and national levels and conduct intelligence interviews in accordance with force procedure.
- Interview victims, witnesses and suspects in accordance with the appropriate legislation and procedures. To prepare evidence and evidential statements for use in court.
- To evaluate, analyse and disseminate intelligence at local, regional and national levels, using the National Intelligence model.
- Plan and implement operations in line with the organisational policing plan including the incorporation of effective risk assessments.
- To work in partnership with other agencies to prepare, submit and complete the case including attendance at court and the presentation of evidence.
- Give advice to, and actively engage with, stakeholders regarding issues of fraud. Attend multi-agency case conferences/meetings as a representative of the organisation.

**Required knowledge/skills**
Essential
- Has completed a CID foundation course or successfully completed the ICIDP.
- Interview skills.
- Proven ability to evaluate, analyse and disseminate intelligence.
- Good proven communication skills.
- Good understanding of relevant legislation and legal requirements and the National Intelligence Model.
- Experience of investigation (ideally fraud investigation), Intelligence gathering and Operational planning.
- Experience of managing a team or individuals.
