Maintenance Assistant/ Administrator
I am delighted to be recruiting for a fantastic organisation based in Darlington who are looking for a Maintenance Assistant/ Administrator to join their busy, friendly team on a permanent basis.
As the Maintenance Assistant/ Administrator your role will be to provide a high quality customer orientated front line service to residents in respect of the day-to-day repairs service and to assist with the efficient and effective administration of the day-to-dayrepairs function.
Key Duties of the Maintenance Assistant/ Administrator role:

- To receive repair requests from residents and process all calls in accordance with procedures and current targets.
- To take all calls in respect of the day to day running of the maintenance service and wherever possible taking responsibility to resolve any relevant issues at the first point of contact within defined timescales.
- Liaise with customers in respect of appointments raised for repairs relating to the day to day running of the service.
- Update the IT system upon completion of a pre/post inspection by a Maintenance Surveyor and carry out any additional administration in connection with this.
- Monitor the day to day response times and the quality of work in accordance with procedures.
- Follow up calls in respect of works to ensure all works are complete within the given timescale.
- Process tenant satisfaction slips in accordance with procedures to include updating of records including completion dates and obtaining further details of any complaints
- To assist the Senior Maintenance Assistant in processing and certifying invoices for the Asset Management Section in accordance with procedures and timescales.
- To assist with general filing duties within the Asset Management Team to ensure all records are up to date.
- To provide administrative cover to the Asset Management Team as agreed by the line manager.
- To extract quarterly from Keystone information to calculate performance indicators for the asset management service.
- Actively support, promote and act in line with the vision, mission and values of the Association at all times.
- Represent the organisation externally in a professional way with high attention to customer care.
- Undertake any task which is within the capabilities of the post holder as assigned by line manager.

To be successful in this role you will have the ability to work on your own initiative as well as the ability to work as part of a team. You will be able to prioritise workloads, be well organised and able to work to and meet strict deadlines. Good communicationskills is essential as well as having excellent customer service skills and the ability to give clear advice to residents. Previous experience of dealing with residents on the telephone and in person and experience of working within a housing association ispreferred but not essential.
