**Risk Actuary - (Part-Time, Job-Share and Full-Time)**

**Location**:Any UK location - hybrid working so some office presence will be required

**The opportunity**

The team works in an agile manner, where roles and responsibilities evolve and are shaped, enabling colleagues to gain new, interesting and varied work.

This role is available part-time, job-share or full time. This is because we want the best people for our roles, and we recognise that sometimes those people aren’t available full-time.

**Key responsibilities**
- Support the Chief Risk Officer in providing risk opinions on risk mitigation, reinsurance, investments, product design/pricing, risk appetite and capital management
- Develop a deep understanding of the stress and scenario framework and provide technical support to the ORSA process
- Support the operation of a robust financial risk framework, positively engage with the wider Risk team, the business and technical functions. Lead/support the Standard Formula Appropriateness, Actuarial Function Report and model risk management
- Identify and mitigate risks to the business and work to improve quality of processes
- Maintain appropriate level of technical expertise and knowledge of regulations, professional guidance and gain the understanding of the UK business and strategy
- Support and mentor junior members of the team
- Create/maintain strong working relationships within Risk, Finance and the wider business

**Your skills and experience**
- Qualified actuary (or relevant other experience)
- Experience in either risk, reporting, pricing or capital management
- Strong business acumen and knowledge of the life insurance industry
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder engagement
- Technical actuarial skills applied to report writing, problem solving and project tasks
- Self-motivated and driven to deliver to set deadlines
- Motivated to take responsibility for tasks, managing expectations and stakeholders
