Educational Care Assistant

A position has recently become available at an SEND school local to the Carnforth area, and we are looking for an enthusiastic new TA to join a classroom for students with complex needs. The staff create a safe and supporting environment for its students, and each young person has an EHCP. It will be your responsibility to understand their independent learning journeys, and cater your educational style towards these needs. The school in question is all about inclusive education, and so the school is accessible, and the lessons are designed to support students with SEND.
Your role in this environment will be to support the classroom teacher, and advocate for the students' needs in all circumstances. The education style is pupil focused, and so it is important that the young people in your care will always come first. This role is perfect for anyone with a background in SEN, care, education, or childcare. If you feel you have the right motivations, and passion to care, we would love to hear from you.
The Role:
- To support the students and staff at all times
- Understand and maintain your safeguarding roles and responsibilities
- Engage students in learning and activities, whilst having an understanding of their individual needs
- Assist at lunch and snack times, supporting students in their independence
- Assist via one to one support when possible
- Engage in lessons such as Jolly phonics, sensology, Makaton, maths, English and art
