Marston Green, United Kingdom Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust Full time

Are you looking to start a career in the NHS? A Health Care Assistant (HCA) role is the perfect starting point. Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust has development pathways from HCA through to nursing degrees.

We are looking to grow our care assistant workforce in Eden Ward, a Low Secure Unit for up to 13 women with forensic and complex trauma histories. Due to the nature of the ward and current workforce we are looking to recruit female staff only at this point. This is interesting, at times challenging, but very rewarding work.

**At Brooklands Hospital our patients have asked for nurses who**: "will fight for them in MDT's to get the appropriate opportunities and support, that listen, that let them be involved in care planning and risk assessments, that have a good sense of humour and know what makes them happy. They would like nurses who are caring and talk to them and give them praise when they do well"

Applicants will need a care certificate or level 3 award in care.

If you think this is you and you want to make that career start in the NHS then please come join us.

To assist in the provision of support and care under the guidance of a qualified nurse and therapist, for patients with health and social care needs, on the unit or when supporting patients in the community. This is achieved over a 24-hour period on a rota system and includes days, nights, weekends, bank holidays (including Christmas and New Year)

For more information on this role please see the attached support information. This will give you a better overview of the job role and requirements.

At Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust (CWPT), we deliver a wide range of physical, mental health, learning disability and autism services, and are proud to serve communities across Coventry, Warwickshire and beyond.

We put ‘people at our heart’; this ethos is at the centre of everything we do and how we do it. We care for our staff and colleagues as much as they care for others and offer a wide range of benefits and development opportunities.

We’re always on the lookout for people who share our passion for improving the lives and wellbeing of people in our community, as well as our values of compassion, collaboration, excellence, integrity and respect.

Take a role for care delivery under the direction of qualified nurse/deputy/unit

manager.

Actively encourage patients to become involved in all aspects of their lifestyle.

This includes the monitoring and updating person centred plans.

Support patients to identify their own health needs and support them

accessing health professionals and facilities.

Identify and provide practical and emotional support for patients to engage in

a range of everyday tasks, which include supporting patients with their

personal hygiene needs, cooking, shopping, cleaning, managing finances,

budgeting and all aspects of patient engagement.

The post holder will support patients to access and participate in social,

leisure, educational and occupational activities within the unit and the wider

community. This will involve escorting patients away from the unit following a

full risk assessment.

Identify possible risk situations and report them to the manager and follow risk

assessments.
