JOB OVERVIEW

The organisation is looking for a caring and passionate Support Worker Team Leader to work as part of a dedicated team in Salisbury, Wiltshire.

As the Support Worker Team Leader you will be part of an organisation whose common purpose is to help those who are severely impacted by mental illness. The organisation believes that everyone should be treated with respect and dignity - and that’s why equality is one of their core values.

Working as the Support Worker Team Leader you will be based at the site which is a 15-bed registered care home providing a safe space for people with moderate to severe mental health difficulties. There is a focus on supporting people to develop / regain the life skills needed to live more independently.

DUTIES

**Your duties as a Support Worker Team Leader will include**:
Positive role model and coach, as a lead recovery practitioner providing expertise and guidance on practice issues to the team; developing their knowledge and skills and embedding the recovery model and ISSP into practice

Ensure all staff and volunteers are supported and developed through on the job coaching, individual supervision and group supervision

Ensure that all staff and volunteers within your team receive an effective induction programme and achieve the “Care Certificate” (if appropriate to the role)

Liaise with the Registered Manager to ensure that any staff training, and development needs identified via supervision / appraisal are within budget

Support the Registered Manager in the recruitment of staff and volunteers within the service, acting as a panel member in line with Recruitment and Selection policy

Ensure that effective communications are in place and that the team is kept fully informed of organisational and service developments

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

QCF Diploma or NVQ level 3 in Care or Certificate in Community Mental Healthcare (or working towards) or an equivalent qualification

Experience of providing support to people with a mental illness; or experience of providing care and/or support services within another social care setting in either a paid or voluntary capacity

Knowledge and understanding of recovery principles and embedding the ethos of recovery into your own practice

Ability to make a comprehensive assessment of an individual’s situation and needs; to develop, implement and review risk management plans and devise support plans to meet these needs
