**Health and Safety Advisor, Building/Construction Industry**

**Job Summary**

As a Health and Safety Adviser in the Building and Construction industry you will be responsible for implementing and managing health and safety programs to ensure a safe working environment on building / construction sites. The role involves identifying and mitigating potential hazards, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with relevant health and safety regulations. You will play a crucial role in promoting a culture of safety and preventing accidents or injuries for our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
**1. **Conduct regular inspections on our customers sites/workplaces to identify potential hazards and assess risks to ensure compliance with applicable safety standards and regulations.

**2. **Prepare inspection reports that accurately reflect observations made on site, actions taken during the inspection and actions required to improve performance to the required standard.

**3. **Investigate and report on any site/workplace accidents, incidents or near misses and develop recommendations for preventing similar incidents in the future.

**4. **Collaborate with relevant parties to implement corrective actions.

**5. **Prepare health and safety plans, policies and procedures including risk assessments for all our customers site/workplace activities.

**6. **Prepare Construction Phase Health and Safety Plans (Pre-tender Health and Safety Plans would be an advantage).

**7. **Collaborate with our customers site managers, contractors, and subcontractors to address safety concerns.

**Qualifications and Skills that are required for this position**:

- Professional certification in health and safety (e.g., NEBOSH Construction (preferable) or NEBOSH General Certificate)
- Proven experience in the UK Building/Construction health and safety industry, with a strong understanding of the UK building and construction processes and associated risks.
- Would be advantageous to have a CSCS card.
- Excellent knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to conduct thorough risk assessments and implement effective risk mitigation strategies.
- Proficient in incident investigation and reporting.
- CDM qualification would be advantageous.
- Must be competent on a computer and proficient in Microsoft packages.
- Must have a UK Drivers Licence and own vehicle.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
