Conference & Events Assistant

The Marketing Department at Conservative Campaign Headquarters (CCHQ) are excited to announce a new role of Conference Assistant within the busy Conference & Events team. Reporting to the Conference Operations Manager you will provide support to the team in all aspects of Conference delivery. With a primary responsibility for managing inbound communication and the coordination of hotel accommodation for staff and VIPs, this role will also assist with delegate accreditation, contracts administration and a myriad of other preparation tasks which arise during the entire Conference lifecycle. Our Party Conference is Europe’s largest political gathering and this opportunity would afford the successful applicant with unparalleled exposure to the MICE sector and would suit a go-getting, friendly person looking to develop a career in this sector, be that with a political focus or not.
**Responsibilities**:
- Registration and accreditation support
- Management of Conference inbox
- Coordination of Conference hotel bookings and payments (chasing payments and liaising with Accounts team)
- Volunteer liaison and roster
- Contract administration for team supplier contracts
- General assistance in relation to conferences and events, both pre, post and during Conference.
Your professional experience
- Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to use positive language
- Experience of supporting events management is preferred
- A can-do attitude and able to take the initiative
- Demonstrated ability to stay calm and work effectively under pressure
- Can identify and set priorities and effectively perform a variety of tasks simultaneously
- Flexibility to work in an environment that is ever changing, ability to remain adaptable
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Highly organised and self-motivated
