Company Overview: Our company is a reputable provider of green space management services, dedicated to maintaining and enhancing outdoor environments across various locations in the UK. We are currently seeking a skilled and self-motivated Ground Maintenance Operative to join our team in Dorking. This role requires a valid driver's license as you will be responsible for driving to different sites within the area.

Position Summary: As a Ground Maintenance Operative, you will be responsible for the maintenance and care of various outdoor spaces in Dorking. Your role will involve a range of grounds maintenance tasks, including grass cutting, planting, weeding, and general horticultural duties. As a driver, you will also be responsible for transportation to and from different sites, ensuring all equipment and materials are safely transported.

Key Responsibilities:

- Grounds Maintenance: Conduct routine grounds maintenance tasks, including grass cutting, edging, weeding, litter picking, pruning, and leaf clearance, to ensure the sites are well-maintained and visually appealing.
- Planting and Horticultural Duties: Assist in planting flowers, shrubs, and trees, as well as maintaining existing plantings. Conduct watering, fertilizing, weeding, and pest control activities to promote healthy growth and maintain the overall aesthetic of the sites.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate and maintain a variety of grounds maintenance equipment, including mowers, strimmers, hedge trimmers, leaf blowers, and other tools required for daily tasks.
- Driving and Transportation: Drive company vehicles to transport yourself, equipment, and materials to and from different sites in Dorking and nearby areas. Ensure adherence to road safety regulations and report any vehicle maintenance issues promptly.
- Health and Safety: Comply with all health and safety guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for yourself, colleagues, and the general public. Identify and report any hazards or potential risks.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of work completed, including timesheets, maintenance logs, and any other required documentation.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with clients, colleagues, and members of the public, providing assistance, answering inquiries, and representing the company in a positive manner.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other team members, sharing knowledge, skills, and resources to ensure efficient operations and high-quality service delivery.

Qualifications and Skills:

- Previous experience in grounds maintenance or landscaping is preferred.
- A valid driver's license is essential for this role.
- Basic knowledge of horticultural practices, plant identification, and grounds maintenance techniques.
- Familiarity with the safe operation and maintenance of grounds maintenance equipment and machinery.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced outdoor environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with colleagues, clients, and the public.
- Self-motivation and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual labor tasks in various weather conditions.
- A commitment to upholding health and safety standards at all times.
