We have an exciting opportunity for registered Mental Health Nurses wanting to enhance their careers.
We are creating an Enhanced Care and Support Team at the RUH and offering you the chance to build your skill set and further your career.

We have invested in bespoke training which includes Trauma Informed Care. We also have close links with universities giving you the option to obtain a Master's degree in relevant courses.

Our Enhanced Care and Support Team has been set up to deliver high quality enhanced therapeutic care, support and supervision ensuring the Patient's physical and psychological well being needs are met.

This rewarding position of Enhanced Care Practitioner / RMN will develop and evolve within our collaborative team making you an integral part of it, to ensure we meet the advancing demand of patients with additional needs.

We ask that you are focused on person-centred care giving and open to holistic and enhanced therapeutic methods of care. Whilst also having excellent assessment and supportive skills for patients presenting with complex clinical needs.

We have recruited a Lead Nurse into the Mental Health role and a Lead Nurse into the Learning Disability and Autism role who will be there as a supportive leader and role model for you to aspire to.

Role modelling and effective use of de-escalation techniques which may include communication, self-regulation, assessment, actions, and safety maintenance in order to reduce the risk of harm to patients, relatives/carers, visitors and staff.

Administer medications as prescribed and maintain custody of all medicines, including controlled drugs, adhering at all times to the Trust's Policy on Administration of Medicines.

Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and update care plans to take account of the changing needs of the patient. Where appropriate plan the discharge needs of patients from admission, ensuring appropriate involvement of multi professionals and other agencies in the process.

You will be required to work shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and bank holidays.
