We are creating an Enhanced Care and Support Team at the RUH. This is a brand-new service to meet the needs of our patients This has created a number of exciting new opportunities to join the team as an Enhanced Care Support Worker and play a vital role in shaping and delivering this new and important service.
Enhanced care and support will focus on person-centred care giving and holistic care planning. Enhanced Care Support Workers will be an integral part of the team, delivering enhanced therapeutic care, support and supervision to meet the physical and psychological wellbeing and additional needs of patients at the RUH.
This rewarding role will develop and evolve with our collaborative team working approach to ensure we meet the advancing demand of patients with additional needs.

On Wednesday 3 rd July between 11.30am and 2.00pm head to the Lansdown restaurant, where you’ll see the team in the foyer.
On Thursday 4 th July, 11.30-2.00pm and 6.00-8.00pm you’ll find the team in the Career Zone, on the left inside the main entrance of the RUH.
You will work as part of a team to support, supervise and care for patients who may be at risk of harm of falls, deterioration or isolation. Enhanced care can either be provided on a one to one basis or as part of a cohort. This may include people with acute delirium, people with mental health needs, people living with dementia, people with a learning disability, autistic people.
You will be required to work shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and bank holidays. Based within a core team, you will be assigned to a patient/s for the shift and therefore will work across all wards and departments within our Trust, assisting in patient care under the supervision of registered healthcare professional.
In the role as Enhanced Care Support Worker you will be expected to provide high quality enhanced care and supervision support that respects people's dignity and is inclusive of their individual needs You will provide patient 1:1 care and support through observation, interaction and de-escalation skills aiming to reduce the risk of patient harm and enhancing patient experience.
You will assist in providing patient care in accordance with the individual care plan and the wishes/choice of the patient in accordance with instructions and training received, reporting any changes in condition promptly to the Registered Nurse and Enhanced Care and Support Team lead. You will contribute and be actively involved in assessment, planning, implementation and evaluating of care.
