Transport Supervisor

The main purpose of the role is to assist the Waste and Logistics Manager and Deputy Waste and Logistics Manager, in the provision and management of an efficient and sustainable Logistics / Transport service within set budgets.

The postholder will line manage the Logistics / Transport team, which is a responsive and efficient Trust wide logistic function in delivering a 365 day service. You will be directly responsible for the supervision of the Logistics / Transport team on a daily basis. This includes ensuring appropriate levels of cover for annual leave and sickness, leading on the recruitment of new team members, carrying out 1 on 1 supervisions and appraisals. The postholder will act as the first escalation point for any queries relating to the Logistics / Transport function and will be expected to make the appropriate decisions. The postholder will dispatch the Logistics / Transport team to jobs and prioritise any work requests accordingly.
