Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:

- Respond to and meet the identified needs of children and young people as outlined in individual care plans.
- Work in partnership with young people, their families, social workers, and other relevant agencies to meet the needs of young people.
- Ensure that work with children and young people complies with legislative, procedural, and good practice requirements.
- Ensure that the safety and welfare of young people is paramount.
- Participate in the implementation, monitoring, and review of children and young people’s care, health, and education plans.
- Contribute to planning meetings and reviews as required.
- Understand and be familiar with all relevant legislation, guidance, policies, and procedures in relation to safeguarding young people.
- Promote the development of a comfortable physical environment conducive to good social care practice and in line with standards and guidance.

**Requirements**:

- Understanding of the developmental needs (physical, emotional, intellectual, social, and educational) of young people.
- Knowledge of child protection issues and procedures.
- Familiarity with social care services available to young people and their families.
- Experience working within a team, demonstrating sensitivity and understanding.
- Ability to motivate oneself and others to meet time and performance goals.
- Ability to deal with emotional stress.
- Flexibility and adaptability in various situations.
- Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate well to young people and staff at all levels.
- Diploma 4 in childrens residential care or be willing to work towards it.

**About Elvet House**:
Elvet House aims to meet the needs of children and young people across the continuum of care. Our range of specialist services supports our ambition to provide every child with the care, therapy, and learning they need to ensure they achieve their personal best.

Located in South Shields, Elvet House is thoughtfully designed to accommodate up to four children, aged 8 to 17, who are experiencing mental health disorders, including self-harming behaviors, trauma, attachment issues, and/or learning disabilities.

At Three Bridges Care, we proudly offer a specialist step-down service tailored for children transitioning from a hospital setting. Our mission is to provide a safe, nurturing environment where children can continue their recovery journey with the dedicated support of our highly trained therapeutic staff. Each member of our team is committed to building trusting relationships with the children in our care, fostering a sense of stability and emotional security.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £24,470.00 per year
