Job Introduction
The School Organisation Team are responsible for the County Council’s statutory duty to ensure we have sufficient school places for children in Staffordshire.

We are looking for an Intelligence and Analysis Assistant to join our forward-thinking and supportive team to collate and prepare data for specialist provision data requirements for the Department for Education (DfE) Annual School Capacity Collection (SCAP). The responsibility to submit this data is new for 2023 across the country and the data requirements will likely develop over time. We are looking for someone who has the drive, initiative and determination to contribute to this piece of work and you will need to be motivated to research problems and further develop your skills and knowledge.

Main Responsibilities
In this key role you will be contributing to the development of methodologies and processes to project the future need in the short-, medium
- and long-term future for specialist provision. You will also be required to analyse data including local demographics and information relating to schools and specialist provision and identify statistical patterns and trends.

You will need to maintain and develop good links and working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders including working with colleagues and peers both within Staffordshire and other local authorities and the DFE. You will be the first point of contact with the DfE for any SCAP queries relating to specialist provision.

You will be responsible for operating and developing ICT systems, and appropriate methodologies for storing and analysing data, maximising quality and accuracy.

In this role you will need:

- The ability to use IT software packages to collate, store and analyse data to maximise quality and accuracy.
- Good written communication skills for a wide range of people.
- The ability to contribute to methodologies, processes and procedures.
- To be flexible to an ever-evolving education system.
